Zagliani Medium Python Puffy Satchel

October 24, 2008

I have not been a huge snakeskin bag fan. But then all the snakeskin bags that I have ever touched felt rough and cheap to me. But a dermatologist changed all that I ever hated about exotic bags. Mauro Orietti-Carella, genius that he is, injected silicone into his exotic skins and then created gorgeous designs for these skins to make women like me swoon with pleasure and joy.The silicone gives the skin a smooth and supple texture. And when that technique is used on python? Well, we have a winner! I love the grey version of this Zagliani bag. It shows off the quality that Zagliani is known for. And they didn’t just stop there, oh no. You have to see the inside of the bag to see how useful they made it. Are you convinced? Is Zagliani after my own heart? This python exotic is one that I would invest in. You can buy through Saks for $2,900.

Bottega Veneta Ostrich Tote

October 24, 2008

Bottega Veneta makes classic leather bags, but their exotics are what make the brand. I’ve already posted about their men’s crocodile wallet but I have fallen in love with their ostrich bag. Top zip closure with suede lining, cell phone compartment and interior pocket, this exotic comes with all practical aspects. It’s not just for looks. What really turned me on about this bag was the first time I saw it in their advertising campaign. It wasn’t shown in the nice neutral color above, but the most beautiful shade of purple. Not too strong, but not too light, just perfect. I’ve been a good girl, I think I deserve this for Christmas! 😉 Buy online through Bottega Veneta for $5,700.

Told you. Perfect.

Clutches by Jalda

October 24, 2008

I already posted about Jalda’s amazing laptop bag, but she has other incredibly gorgeous bags and clutches too that I just have to mention. Check these out:

JALDA Patent Python Deniz Clutch

JALDA Patent Python Deniz Clutch

Her patent leather clutch with python detailing is stunning! Turquoise lining gives it some extra flair, and the ample room (11½”W X 5″H X 1″) will not leave you short of space. The magnetic closure makes it easy to get in and out, I hate difficult to open bags. Jalda knows how to do it right. Buy through Saks for $360.

Jalda Stingray Bean Clutch

Jalda Stingray Bean Clutch

This clutch folds over to make an adorable exotic to take out on the town. One side has distressed Italian leather and the other has the stingray, which makes it interesting. What’s even better is the price: Buy through Armcandy for $225.

For an overload of clutches (check out her lambskin Julie Clutch) go check out Stefanibags.com.

Bottega Veneta Cervo Quilted Bucket Tote

October 24, 2008

I like this Bottega Veneta bucket tote because it’s not the usual leather weave that they are known for. I do like their classic signature leather styles, but it’s nice to be different. This would make a great everyday bag, and I can bet that this bag is soft as a kitten. Squishy as a pillow too. Suede lining and inner zip pocket, the bag has luxury written all over it, except it has no closure. I guess they forgot to add it? Even a simple magnetic closure would have done the job. Oh well, no one is perfect, but I still love the bag. You can buy through Saks for $2,150.

Tufi Duek Plum Leather “Ana” Weekend Tote

October 23, 2008

Coffee and Plum. Those colors look so rich together. So perfect for Fall, especially when it’s on sale. Large enough to hold everything, but still comfy enough to fit on your shoulder and use as an everyday bag. This designer even remembered the small details that seem to be forgotten nowadays, like protective metal feet on the bottom. Oh how I wish some high-end designers would add this! Who wants to put their unprotected $2,000 purse on the ground!? Comes with extra pockets to keep you organized, I liked another larger version of this bag a few months back, but I really like this one more. You can buy through Bluefly for $381.

Banana Republic Cambridge Large Metallic Zip Satchel

October 22, 2008

Banana Republic Metallic Satchel

I am predictable in a lot of ways, but helloooo I’m not just a creature of comfort. I’m a creature of habit too. For a long time Banana Republic has impressed me with their clothing and bags. I just never took the plunge, prefering to spend my money on their cute coats and sweaters. But since they are doing a discount now through Oct. 22, now might be the time. I took it upon myself to find a bag that would make that discount even sweeter. I found this one: practical (shoulder strap and hand-held option), everyday size, cute braided handle, and cell phone pocket. All the things that I like in a bag. Plus its metallic leather and edgy! I usually don’t jump for metallics but this bag just looks so cool and squishy. You can purchase through Banana Republic for $295. But that price gets you a 25% discount by entering SAVEMORE at checkout. You can thank me later. 😉

Muxo by Camila Alves Crock Bag

October 20, 2008

This Muxo by Camila Alves Crock Bag is similar to the bag that I posted about earlier, Paulista’s Little Sister. This one is cheaper and more interesting though. It is croc-embossed on the front, but it’s also distressed all over, which gives it character and prevents this bag from being bo-ring. Again, her bags are handmade and look a little rough, but that’s the appeal for me. A good bag collection needs a little variety, you can have your lady-like (uptight *cough cough*) bags, but you need the fun ones too that still rely on amazing quality in order to stand out.  The closure is magnetic, and there is also an interior magnetic-snap pocket as well. Buy through Shopbop for $650. I had to add this detailed shot, it looks gorgeous!

Yves Saint Laurent Overseas Leather Tote

October 19, 2008

YSL has a gift. And that gift is making stunning, carry-me-everywhere handbags. This one is no different. I’m already partial to soft, pretty things, especially if I can carry it over my shoulder. YSL has also perfected the croc-embossed nubuck suede so well, it’s practically their signature look. The drawstring closure is not my favorite thing in the world, but it does make it easy getting in and out of this pretty number. Isn’t the color gorgeous? Grey, or Sky Anthracite, is such a hot color, and even when it inevitably does go back out of style, it’s still a classic. Purchase through Saks Fifth Avenue for $1,895.

Marc Jacobs Blue Violet Ostrich Stam Satchel

October 19, 2008
Marc Jacobs Ostrich Stam

I do like this bag. Yes, it is pricey, but look at that color! Blue-violet? sigh. Ostrich? another sigh. Because of the price you might want to go with another more “investment” brand, such as Hermes or Chanel. But that doesn’t mean I don’t love the eye candy that Marc Jacobs has created. If you don’t care that it’s not some big name designer that throws around some clout, you can buy through Neiman Marcus for $5,500. I mean, when it’s said and done, it is still a classic shape and an exotic. You can’t go wrong either way.
